Yes/ Know

You should know how much I longed for this,
How I vividly pictured the way your lips would move when you say the words and the feel of your kiss.

How loud the beating of my heart would sound,

Like a million drums and hordes of feet doing pounds.

How glorious you and I would feel,

After breaking the silence that has left our story sealed.

But you should know,

All the longing and wondering and wishing left my torn heart all the more voided and hollow.

The flowers have dried and died,

In the endless longing of the past that I was left tied.

You should know that time knows humor than most men,

For it brings back what was found and was then lost,
Only to remind you how much damage it has cost.
